Centennial - Regionals
Win 2-1
Andrea Breon scored early and Rachel Ciarleglio put the Hawks ahead to stay in the 2nd half, as the Hawks avenged their only County loss in the first round of the playoffs. The defense (Courtney Case, Rachel Devadas, Cari Haas and Danielle Schovee) yielded only their 5th goal of the season in 11 County games. Midfielders Lexy Doerr, Sara Kate Moore and Molly Lazarus had big games on both ends of the field, as the Hawks beat Centennial for the first time ever. |

Oct 21
Howard
Win 7-0
Courtney Case did not have a save, as the Hawks dominated the game from the outset on a rainy Senior Day. Joanne Reid scored four goals, with one goal each by Sara Kate Moore, Rachel Ciarleglio and Lexy Doerr. |
Oct 18
Mt. Hebron
Win 1-0
Lexy Doerr scored on a pass from Joanne Reid in the 2nd overtime to upset 2nd-ranked and previously undefeated Mt. Hebron. Courtney Case stopped 16 shots with some extraordinary defensive help by Rachel Devadas, Danielle Schovee and Cari Haas. |
Oct 14
Long Reach
Win 4-1
The Hawks finished the game with plenty of bruises, but a surprisingly easy win against a Long Reach team that entered the game with just one loss in the County. Allison Geoghan (2), Marisa Delore and Sara Kate Moore scored the goals (with assists from JoAnne Reid and Rachel Ciarleglio), while defenders Danielle Schovee and Cari Haas frustrated the county's leading scorer, Kelly Filipowitz. |
Oct 10
Fallston
Loss 3-2
Trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Hawks responded with goals by Lexy Doerr and JoAnne Reid (with assists by Sara Kate Moore and Andrea Breon) and nearly caught 9th-ranked Fallston. |
Oct 7
Reservoir
Win 6-1
The Hawks gave up a goal in the first three minutes and were tied, 1-1, at halftime, but it was literally downhill (in a good way) from there. Goals by Rachel Ciarleglio (2), Marisa Delore, Sara Kate Moore, JoAnne Reid and Joanna Shieh (with assists by Sara Kate Moore, Lexy Doerr and JoAnne Reid) led to the rout. |
Oct 5
Wilde Lake
Win 7-0
In a surprisingly easy win, the goals were scored by Marisa Delore (2), JoAnne Reid (2), Joanna Shieh, Lexy Doerr and Sara Kate Moore, with assists from Andrea Breon (2), Allison Geoghan, Molly Lazarek, and Lexy Doerr. Courtney Case needed just two saves to record the Hawks' 4th shutout in 6 games. |
Sep 30
Oakland Mills
Win 3-0
Marisa Delore, Molly Lazarek (on a corner!) and JoAnne Reid scored the goals and Andrea Breon had both assists. Goalie Courtney Case needed only three saves to preserve the Hawks' 3rd shutout in five County games. |
Sep 27
Centennial
Loss 1-0
In a game where the Hawks controlled the action, they suffered a disappointing loss in overtime. |
Sep 23
Hammond
Win 2-1
It was the best of times (first half), it was the worst of times (going uphill in the second half). Allison Geoghan scored both goals (with assists from Lexy Doerr and JoAnne Reid), but excellent play by the defense (especially Danielle Schovee) helped the Hawks to hang on in the second half. |
Sep 20
Atholton
Win 2-0
Wings Marisa Delore and Rachel Ciarleglio scored the goals (with assists from Sara Kate Moore and Megan Lancaster) in a game that was not as close as the score indicated. |
Sep 16
Glenelg
Tie 0-0
In a game that River Hill controlled most of the time, the Hawks had to settle for a tie in double overtime that was ended by rain (well, actually, sprinklers). The Hawks had numerous scoring chances, mostly set up by passes from Rachel Ciarleglio. The defense of Danielle Schovee, Cari Haas, Rachael Devadas (injured late in the second overtime) and goalkeeper Courtney Case (with several key overtime saves) rendered Glenelg's offense ineffective at best. |
